LIPSTICK JUNGLE

FALL in love

Hello Lovelies,

Summer 2k14 is almost over, and that is definitely a pity. No more sunny beach days, flip-flops and crop tops. We could sit back and lament about all the horrors that the end of summer brings with itself, or, we could, get excited about the up and coming fall trends.
So, wipe off those tears from your eyes, and that bright red lipstick from your lips. It is time for something deeper: shades of plum and dark red.

This fall's must have lipstick, as selected by MeF are as follows:

At number 5 is our ever-dependant M.A.C. Mineralize Rich Lipstick- Grande Dam.
This dark, bold shade of red doesn't just leave a lasting impression on your lips, but also one on the people that see you passing by. The beauty of a colour like this is that it doesn't just fancy-up your basic clothes, but also intensifies the blouses, and dinner date dresses.

At number 4 is TOPSHOP's Lips inhibition-Dark Plum.
This matte plum lipstick sets perfectly on lips and is affordable and dependable. I mean, when has TOPSHOP ever failed us?

At number 3 is SEPHORA cream lipstain 04- Endless Purple

This is a product to swear by. The texture of this lipstain is heavenly, and it doesn't just set in its matte colour, but also provides a very nourished and moisturized look to the lips. The purple of this lipstain is not tacky, and instead is a colour that can be worn on a daily basis. This sets really well with dress shirts and official clothes.

Number 2 is NARS Lipstick Tanganyka (Sh)
Yes, NARS is expensive, and yes, NARS is completely worth it. This neutral plum brown shade is not one that people can look by. This lipstick is available in three different textures: The Satin, which is moist and has lip conditioners. The Semi-Matte, which is very pigmented and has a non-drying formula, providing a velvet like finish. Sheer, which by the way, is my favourite. It has colour pigments suspended int he lipstick, providing it a translucent finish and a natural tint.

And, finally, Number 1: The Bobbi Brown creamy matte Lip color: Crushed Plum

This lipstick is no joke. Bobbi Brown has revolutionized make-up, and this is a perfect example of their genius. This lipstick feels as light as air. It is textured perfectly and doesn't fail the wearer at any point. This lipstick does not budge for an entire work day. Eat, drink or, kiss; put this lipstick through any test and it will survive on your lips. Not to mention, that this lipstick provides a perfect amount of moisture to the lips. It is perfect for fall!

Glamour at Cannes

Greetings.

The annual Cannes film festival came and brought along with it piles and piles of glamour and dresses. The festival lasted longer than a week and ended on the 26th of May, 2013. We have a much delayed post about it. As you see the date: it’s the 3rd of June. Well, I could provide excuses but I will tell you the truth. We weren't really planning to update our blog with this, I mean, c’mon, Harper’s Bazaar does a post on Cannes, who is going to read our post?
But then it all broke upon me when I saw the beautiful pictures of beautiful people and their beautiful dresses at their senior proms, so I thought instead of putting up a whiny post about how life is unfair to us with our anti-prom schools, I’ll perk it up with beautiful women from the Cannes.
So, as I might have mentioned before, we have been brought up in a CBSE system of life. Central board of Secondary Education, should be just a way of education, but as all people know: The six stressful hours of school and the rest 18 of education end up making it a way of life. Now, I really don’t want to sound bleak and melancholy, but in these past years of education our school hasn't had a prom, a dance or a sort of break from the usual day where we dress ourselves up and look all prim and proper. I mean, yeah, we have loads and loads of fun. School was laughter and all of that, but then again, I've never worn a corsage.
Ah, venting is so passé.
Thus, I’ll move on to these pretty ladies:

MeF’s #5 is Nicole Kidman in Valentino
She looks bridal with the white dress and the beautiful smile.

At #4 is Alessandra Ambrosio in Elie Saab.
I personally love the shocking yellow embroidered and the make-up done with it. The color is so hard to pull off, but leave it to her to make it look like a piece of cake. The sexy thigh slit shows of the VS models beautiful body.

At #3 is Rosie Huntington Whitely in Dior.
The off-shoulder uneven dress and her shimmering blonde hair make her look angelic.

At #2 is Izabel Goulart in Emilio Pucci
I absolutely love the slit that runs until her thigh with the sheer black dress. It is not only bold but also breathtaking

At #1 is my favorite: Cara Delevingne.

Her Black Burberry turned heads when she stepped on to the red carpet. The gorgeous black lace and the perfect beautiful face. Cara was a show stopper.

MeF's top 10 ;)

Hello all you people.
As the title reads, this post is a tantalizing count down of the top ten best dressed men. This one was especially interesting for us to write because we did what we love: stalk the hottest men around the globe. Frankly, I was gawking with my mouth wide open at these eye candies.
I hope you have as much fun reading and looking through as I did.

SOOO.

#10
On our number 10 stands Ryan Gosling with his heart rendering acting skills and well, everything rendering body with that gorgeous chiseled face. With a body like his, he can pull of a suit just as well as he does a casual linen shirt with jeans.

#9
You would assume that when a man starts out with High School Musical, they would never reach such great heights. But Zac Efron defies the Disney logic. He has grown into a gorgeous man. With a bedazzling sense of fashion, he is our number 9.

#8
Leonardo di caprio. His blue eyes and blonde hair make him wantable, but it’s his acting and emotions that add a level of sexiness. And to top that, his formals make woman throughout the world go crazy.

#7
When I watched Oceans 13, I had a plethora of hot guys to stare at, but I could not get my eyes off of George Clooney. Yes, he is 53 years old, but he possesses that aura that the other fish in the sea don’t. He has the perfect calming smile and an ‘to die for’ sense of fashion.

#6
RDJ. A man who is literally becoming sexier by the minute. Better known as Tony Stark, he defies all the norms that speak that as a person matures, they lose their appeal. Robert Downey Jr. is a man who everyone loves, not just because of his fashion and looks but also because of his sarcasm and wit.

#5
David Gandy, the face of top notch fashion companies like D&G, Massimo Dutti, Hugo Boss, Zara and the same, he doesn’t need many words to explain his obvious presence in the world of fashion. A little fact that makes him ever so delicious to me is his British accent

#4
When I think David Beckham, I am supposed to think football, but all that dictates my mind is his stunning sense of fashion. He is the man that put fashion into the world of sports. Personally, I love his entire family. Victoria Beckham, David Beckham and the little ones put out a statement that no other family can possibly live up to.

#3
This guy, I like better undressed. Adam Levine has a voice to die for and looks to kill. This lead singer of Maroon 5 creates a sensation with each new video that he releases, his sex appeal increasing steadily with each one. I think it’s his smirk that makes me want him so much, but well, without his lovely sense of dressing I would not…ah, who am I kidding, I’d want him anyway.

#2
Number two is a 1D sensation; teenage girls just swoon at his sexy smirk. Despite my hate for his music, I couldn't help but put him up at number 2. I wish I could write novels and epics on his beauty, but I’d just leave you with this picture which will make your pupils dilate and let out a sigh :P

#1
This man I simply revel because of his ‘sense and sensibility’ of style and fashion. Tom Ford has set up a name for himself. He is specifically number one on list because he is one of those few designers who put themselves forward in their advertisements. Tom Ford is sexy, suave and a stylist. He is what we deem to be the king of fashion.

Hope you ended up drooling too,
Love,
S and A

Summer's out!

Schools out. Hot summer is here, and I along with all my batch mates, rather all the high school graduates from twenty thirteen await their life at college.

I frankly am a little anxious. I have to shift to a city I have never visited and a life I have no idea about. When I sort of fell upon this realization I made a list of things I want to do before I start a new life, so to say. I highly doubt that I would actually end up accomplishing even 5 of these, but what the hell: I’ll go ahead write it out so at least I have an aim.

1)      VISIT FERARI WORLD.
I have lived here, in Dubai for about 6 years. It is a two hour drive to the fastest roller coaster in the world and yet I have never had the time to. SO, this time I will.

2)      EARN MONEY FOR MYSELF
I have volunteered one too many times and it’s all good and self-less, but before I go off to college, I want to earn money, like real cash and go berserk shopping.

3)      LEARN ARABIC
This is ridiculous. I know how to read and write a language and yet I have absolutely zilch idea as to what the words mean.  The people sound so suave when they go on without a single stutter. I should should should learn it.

4)      VISIT VOGUE CAFÉ
Dubai is likely to end up as the fashion capital of the world, and I don’t want to miss out on the beautiful café which is set in Dubai mall (This one is due to be completed soon, since A and I will go there and put up a post about it soon)

5)      CHECK OUT THE DUBAI MUSEUM
I know the place isn’t profound, I mean, this is a desert and all a very transient place but I don’t want to leave a city without trying to understand the little history it has

6)      GO FOR A MASSAGE
I have never been for a massage, and I know it’s all for the stressed people of the world, and currently, I have nothing taxing me, but I still want to. Time will be of the essence in college and I wouldn’t have a single chance to go for the same.

7)      GO TO THE JUMEIRAH BEACH HOTEL BEACH.
I once went there for my friend’s birthday; we illegally cut cake there, now I want to legally eat there and un-stress by the saline beach and the aquamarine waters.

8)      DRIVE THROUGH PALM JUMEIRAH
Since I have a license now, I can, so I will <3

9)      DUNE BASHING
I have done it once, but I want to do it again. It is just the most adrenaline rushing thing on earth. Ok, not the most, but close enough.

10)   DRIVE TOP DOWN IN A CONVERTIBLE
Ok, my parents wouldn't buy me one so I have reached an agreement to rent a car for one day, and drive through the speedy lanes of Shk. Zayed with my hair all flying and an Alexander McQueen scarf and Prada shades. Sort of try my hardest to live up to the precedent set by Grace Kelly.

The hot summer proves a hindrance to this, but I will try my best to fulfill it, despite my oh so hugely procrastinating self.

Love, love and some more love,

S x

Chanel's Little Black Jacket in Dubai!

Hello lovelies!
Hope everyone is having a lovely day!

Well we all aware about the classic black jacket created by Coco Chanel in the 1950s. It's a girls dream to own a jacket by Chanel. It is that one piece of clothing that can rarely be worn wrongly.

Luckily, Chanel bought their photographic exhibition 'Chanel's Classic Revisited by Karl Lagerfeld and
Carine Roitfeld' to Dubai after being held in Tokyo, Milan, London and many more cities. For those who aren't aware of this exhibition, It is an exhibition where the original photographs, taken by Karl Lagerfeld, are displayed which illustrate the versatility and timelessness of the classic black jacket which is modelled by a range of famous faces, styled by Carine Roitfeld, who reflect their own incredible style. In addition to those photographs, new photographs featuring celebs like the gorgeous Keira Knightley, Diane Kruger and many more were displayed for the first time.
The exhibition was held in a custom built black box structure in Downtown Dubai with Burj Khalifa as the backdrop. Not only was the space really nice and simplistic, in addition to that the exhibition was brilliant. The pictures were amazing. They portrayed Chanel's values of excellence, simplicity and creativity.
For those who missed the exhibition, do check out the website for behind-the-scenes videos (www.littleblackjacket.chanel.com).

Thank you Chanel.. until next time.

Glimpses of India

Hello all you beautiful people :)

It's been a while, a long long while. I was in India with a miserable internet connection and lots of food, and of course an abundance of ethnic fashion statements.
I went to a place called Dilli Haat, which is located in the midst of screeching cars and screaming vendors. Its a sort of a congregation of weavers and jewelers from all over India.
Here are a few glimpses of what I saw and loved:

Now I bid adieu again,
with hopes that you all liked it.
Love,
S <3
